Our Story
The Ampomah Foundation was established in Ghana with a deep passion to support the most vulnerable members of our society—the sick, the poor, refugees, orphans, and street children.
Driven by compassion and a commitment to service, our foundation responds to the critical needs of those facing daily hardships due to poverty, illness, displacement, or difficult living circumstances. Many individuals in Ghana lack access to stable employment, proper healthcare, and decent accommodation.
A Personal Journey: The Founder's Father in Nigeria
In the 1990s, our founder's late father traveled to Nigeria in search of a better life. With no family or support system, he struggled immensely—often going without food or shelter, sleeping on the streets, and repairing worn-out shoes just to earn enough to survive. Today, if my father had not survived that difficult chapter of his life, there would be no Godfred Ampomah to carry this vision forward.
This personal journey deeply shaped the founder's vision and fuels his commitment to helping others facing similar hardships. It transformed a family's struggle into a foundation's purpose.
Driven by this lived experience, our foundation responds to the critical needs of those facing daily hardships due to poverty, illness, displacement, or difficult living circumstances.
Many refugees in Ghana, despite the government's continued efforts, are forced onto the streets due to limited resources. Parents often have no choice but to sit along pedestrian walkways with their children, begging for money, food, and water simply to survive.
While the Government of Ghana works tirelessly to support vulnerable populations, the available resources are often insufficient to meet the growing needs. Recognizing this gap, The Ampomah Foundation exists to complement these efforts through humanitarian assistance and practical support.
Through outreach programs and charitable activities, we aim to restore hope and improve the quality of life for those in need. Our foundation is driven by a strong sense of compassion and responsibility toward humanity, believing that every life is valuable and deserves care, respect, and opportunity.
Our Core Belief
Helping refugees and vulnerable children is not just about meeting immediate needs—it is about protecting futures. It is about their children, their dreams, and the untapped potential they carry. We may never know what these individuals could one day contribute to the world if given the opportunity to live with dignity and hope.
